The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.

Has anyone seen this before? It is driving me
crazy. "The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe
was restarted." My PC stops what it is doing and I have
to wait for EXPLORER to restart. This happens to me
multiple times a day. HELP

heh i got that a million times, drove me nuts....
is it really because of spyware/scumware? cause i had my system totally protected at that time... cpmpletely patched, had ZoneAlarm Security suite, Ad-aware and NAV 2004 pro [a pain in the neck]... but it still happened now and then...
i did a fresh install and now things are fine....
