Thanks for the tip. I have done that, and now am getting a message which
states, "Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to
non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on
your system.

I'm not sure if they are talking about my computer or the service I use to
connect to the internet.

Would appreciate any tips on what to try next.

Not a Vista problem. It could indicate an Internet connection problem.
Are you able to visit (browse) various websites successfully?
Is your problem strictly with sending email or receiving email?

Make sure your antivirus program is NOT configured to scan emails.

It should not be necessary to run Windows Mail as an administrator.

I have the problem with using IMAP of Safe-Mail (http://safe-mail.net). I use
Windows Mail on Microsoft Windows Server Code Name Lonhorn Beta 2. The
connection to server has failed.

Error 800ccc0e occured:

"Your IMAP command could not be sent due to non-network errors. This could,
for example, indicate lack of memory on your system"

How much memory? I used automatically setting paging file size.

Internet with now issues. This is a brand new computer running Vista. Has
anybody found a solution??[/QUOTE]

I am getting the same message. I can send e-mail, but cannot receive using
Windows Mail. No problems with the Internet connection. I verified all
settings with my e-mail server. I'm stumped. Any suggestions.
Thanks.

You will need to give us the exact and complete error message.

The message says, "PLAIN authentication failed. None of the authentication
methods supported by your IMAP server (if any) are supported on this
computer. Your IMAP could not be sent to the server, due to non-network
errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system."

I get this message after I open the "Accounts" window and look at the
Properties for the IMAP account I set up. A Window asks, "You have made
changes to one or more of your accounts that may effect your list of folders.
Would you like to refresh your folder list?" When I click yes -- I get the
error message above.

When I hit "Send/Receive" I get no error message, I can send e-mail through
the server, but do not receive any. I sent test messages from another
computer and e-mail account/server that show up on the server, but not
Windows Mail.

Thanks.
