Thanks re Coolplayer

I'm not sure who recommended coolplayer to someone here but I want to
thank you and this list. I went through every player I could find- QCD,
Winamp, xmplay, mpc, jetaudio trying to find one that will allow me to
listen to music when I'm doing something that takes a lot of ram. None
were good- winamp surprised me by using the least memory. I intended to
write a request for help when I saw the mention of coolplayer.

What a perfect player. It is one of the few players that includes shn
and flac codecs and memory usage is minimal.
So thanks.

CP used to be my favorite, and I used it for 2 or 3 years. It has better
sound than any player I ever used. The last 2 releases were so bug ridden I
had to abandon it. One bad bug I can remember is that it wouldn't save
settings.

I currently use Billy, but I worry about it becoming abandon ware.

A bug-free Cool Player would still be my favorite, but I have seen no new
releases in nearly a year. The forums are full of complaints with no recent
replies.

Which of the old versions of CoolPlayer was best?

I have been using Build 8472 for a couple of years without any
problem. I tried later versions but found them not as good and always
reverted back to 8472.
