So today I was playing with the options in Winamp, looking for the
scatterbits enable choice. Something I changed caused winamp to play
the visualization (full screen) and I couldn't find where to kill it.

One uninstall, reinstall, and uninstall later Google was my friend
and found yPlay for me. I like it and don't remember seeing the
author's site mentioned before.

---------------- some stuff from his site -------------
yPlay is a freeware MP3, Ogg*, WMA, WAV, FLAC* and Midi player with
multiple playlists and a light, clean interface.

....I'm sharing it for the benefit of other annoyed music lovers. I'm not
pretending it has more features than the other programs (it doesn't) or
that it's better in any way. It's just smaller, simpler and lighter.

As of version 1.0.22, yPlay has an option to speak all controls (and
file names) aloud as you move the mouse over them. (Thanks to Tom for
the suggestion.) You need the MS Speech API installed for this - if you
don't have it, just download and install my 'yRead' software, which will
set up the speech engines for you.
--------- end of stuff --------------

That's a huge music player compared to tiny 1by1, which plays all the
formats YPlay plays and some more, using Winamp plugins.

"Tired of creating and updating playlists? 1by1 is a small, fast and
handy player which is not only small: It provides powerful tools to
handle your file collection and listen to your tracks.

Directory Player (needs no playlists) · Extensive file navigation ·
Full resume play (remembers last track and position) · ACM (mp3) and
mpglib (mp3/mp2) support · Winamp input plugin support · Audio
dynamics and stereo enhancer · Gapless/track mixing · Directory finder
(plays whole drives) · Cue sheet support · Playlist support ·
Favorites. System requirements:
· 100 MHz / Windows 9x, NT, 2K, XP
· MP3 ACM system codec (present in XP) or mpglib.dll
· Optional: input plugins"

Does it, or any other MP3 player, support Winamp "General purpose" plug-ins?

I have a few ones (integration with mIRC, MSN Messenger and EvilLyrics) that
I wish to keep.
