Terminal Services and USB

I understand that with a thin client and Terminal Services
it is possible to use a locally installed USB printer
using redirection. However what if you had an input USB
device like a card reader is it possible to use that
locally? From my initial investigation it seems that I
could not use the USB device locally but would be OK if I
changed the card reader to a normal serial device which
can be used locally.

Can anybody confirm my assumptions?

Thanks,
Bill

confirmed. The USB support for what you are looking for (Card readers etc)
is not there. They need to be serial.

It really depends on the OS running on the Thin Client. Some Linux ones do
support USB memory readers and these work under TS as they are simply drives
to the TS (assuming 2003 TS of course).
