Using a local USB device in a terminal service session

We are running basically all applications off a Terminal
server, and for one of the programs need to use a USB
Smartcard reader, but how do we set it up, so that the
terminal service session locates the local USB reader.

SmartCards aren't supported through RDP with Windows
2000. However, Windows Server 2003 supports it.
