Barcode Scanner and RDP?

I am wanting to develop a Thin Client (RDP) which has the ability to use a
barcode scanner at the thin client end.

Is it possible to use a barcode scanner (Serial or USB) on a TS client (Thin
Client)?

How will the TS client interact with local ports (Serial or USB) and do the
hardware drivers need to be installed locally in order for the devices to
work with the Thin Client?

What else do I need to consider?
