XPe and CD Burners

We are working with HP Thin clients running XPe and have run into an issue
trying to add a CD Burner to the system. It's a USB external burner and I can
connect it to the thin client and have it appear as a CD-ROM drive but cannot
get it recognized as a recordable. HP Support says it's the thin client
hardware but I don't buy that as it's USB.

Going on the belief that the issue is a lack of writer drivers within XPe,
I've tried installing both Roxio and Nero software in the XPe image and I
cannot get the installations to complete properly. Has anyone out there made
a similar attempt with any success or can you provide any insight into why it
won't work?

It maybe that the HP Thinclient XPE image doesn't contain the components
(IMAPI - CD Burning component)for a CD-R.
