Tempory mouse freeze every 40-60 Seconds

Every 40-60 Seconds I hear my hard drive making a sound
like it is caching information and when this happens my
mouse freezes up for about 3 seconds and then it is
released. I am running windows xp pro, 512 MB memory, 60
GB hard drive, ATI 7500 all in wonder vidoe card. Any
help on this annoying problem would be greatly
appreciated.

i have the same problem in W98. if you get a response

Check to see what you have running in the background and determine if you
can live without it. I had this happen to me when I was using GoBack.
Uninstalled the program and the problem went away.
