Template won't fill out the to and cc fields adds it as an attachm

Hi,

Have a user who is saving an email as an Outlook Template (*.oft). He has a
distribution list in both the to: and cc: fields. However, when he opens the
template it brings up an email with his template added as an attachment (and
fields empty). Everybody else can open it with the fields already filled in
with his distribution lists.

Have tried a new one and does exactly the same, just for him. Am scratching
my head now. So any help would be greatly appreciated (Using Outlook 2003 and
XP)

Which method of opening does he use?
It sounds to me that he has modified how oft-files are handled by Windows.
Verify the configured default action for the oft file type in Control
Panel-> Folder Options-> tab File Types
 
He just double clicks the .oft file (same as other users) it then brings up
an email window. Like I say, with the template added as an attachment. I've
left work now so will try again in the morning, thanks for the fast response.
I'll let you know how I get on.

If this happens via a double click, it is 99% certain to be a messed up
default handler for the oft file type.
 
The way the .oft file was to open had been customised, reverted back to
default and now working as required.
