teaching XP suggestions?

J

James

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be teaching "Windows XP" to a group of people. The marking scheme
is comprised of 1 Exam and Labs and assignments.

Now I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what types of Labs,
or assignments I could assign? I was thinking maybe a few written assignments
i.e. "Describe a feature of windows XP you've learned and how it will help
you at home or in the office where you'll be using it."

I'd appreciate any help with the ol' brainstorming process! thanks very
much for any help...

There are several decent CBT packages out there. It just depends on how
technical you want to get and how much knowledge the students already have..

I'm beginning to believe that one of the prime reasons
there are so many idiots in the world is that most of the
teachers are idiots and have been successful in
transferring their woeful ignorance to their students.

Assuming you have computers with XP installed, why not have
the students setup users accounts, setup Outlook Express
email and newsreaders, set a customized menu and do other
tasks with Windows Explorer.

If you don't have computers for lab assignments, you could
just present a booklist and go home.

To be fair if your ready to be teaching windows XP to anyone you should
already have the
answer to your question. Maybe you need to get a teaching cirtificate that
way what knowlege you pass
to your students will be recognised.
Try looking for Microsoft Training
and good luck in your chosen new career.......

I never said I was ignorant of Windows XP, or how to teach it etc. Was merely
asking for suggestions on potential lab assignments. That's all. Please
read the message more closely in future and have a nice day! :)

That's true. Teaching it's not a problem. Nor are the assignments, Labs
etc as I know how I'm gonna approach them now...
