I uninstalled Norton Personal Firewall 2003 using the removal tool. I cannot
connect to the internet through my LAN and router now although I can use
tracert and ping so there is a connection.

When I had a similar problem before I was given a link to repair TCP/IP -
can someoen advise me again please

Hi Wes

Thanks for this - unfortunately the netsh int ip reset tesetlog has run but
not cured the problem.

My PC does not recognise the command " netsh reset winsock catalog"

I tried netsh winsock reset and it ran ok and told me to re-boot - but no
change in connectivity

Michael,

Try WinsockFix and/or LSP-Fix.

1.) Download WinsockFix.zip. (by: Option^Explicit)
http://members.shaw.ca/installations/WinsockFix.zip

2.) UnZip WinsockFix.zip (Pay close attention to where the file is extracted
to.)
3.) Run WinsockFix.exe.
4.) Click the Fix button.

This program will clean up your TCP/IP connection and rebuild the database.
After the program is complete, reboot and your problems should be resolved.
