Re-installing TCP/IP in Windows XP

Leo

any help is appreciated in how to re-install or uninstall
TCP/IP in windows XP.
I can browse the internet and ping other computers on the
LAN from computer lets say (NO.1) with Windows XP
installed on it, but I cant ping or connect to it from
other computers on the LAN .
firewall option is disabled on computer (NO.1)
Incoming connection is enabled on computer (NO.1)
I am thinking that the TCP/IP could be corrupted and the
option to uninstall it is always grayed out. My
understanding that you canot unistall TCP/IP because it
is installed by default when you first install windows XP.
Does anyone know of any trick to unistall TCP/IP or
re-install it.
thankyou

Hi

You can restore the default TCP/IP files by using the following command and will not alter your existing network settings:

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

You can name the .txt file anything you like.

.

Right-click on your Connection Icon, select Properties and go to the
Networking tab. You can Uninstall and re-install TCP/IP from there.
