hi i m going nuts, because of this problem..
i cannot connect to internet since LAN does not show TCP/IP option any more..
i tried to uninstall my adapter n reinstall nut it was worse.. anyhow by
system restore i got my network adapter back but m in great problem as i cant
install TCP/IP, it does not show in the LAN property box..
ALso when i tried to reinstall it through add window component option its
says "registry entry missing or corrupt" so i used netsh reset command +
winsockfix n also a window update KB913446-x86-ENU.. but all in vain..

PLZ TELL ME HOW CAN I GET IT ALL CORRECT WITHOUT HAVING TO REINSTALL AS I
DONT WANT TO REINSTALL LOADS OF SOFTWARE STUFF. N DATA.

N IF POSSIBLE PLZ TELL ME AS WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED TO MY NOTEBOOK!!

What happens when you get to this screen:
http://www.screenshots.modemhelp.ne...rea_Connection/Properties/General/Index.shtml
and click on the "install" button?

Did you get this screen:
http://www.screenshots.modemhelp.ne..._Area_Connection/Properties/General/Add.shtml
and then highlight"Protocol" and click on the "Add" button?

Did you then get a screen that listed "TCP/IP"?

This may have been suggested before but you started a new thread.
How about if you install it? Click on the Install button and follow the
prompts.

That view does not show the results of you clicking the "Install"
button. To repeat:

Click "Install", "Protocol", "TCP/IP" from the Local Area Connection
Properties box? Show a screen shot of that result..
