1068 error after reset tcp/ip following a corruption or power outa

I had a tcp/ip corruption issue that I resolved...am not sure what caused it
other than a power outage...after rebooting from resetting my tcp/ip my
network connections are not showing and my windows firewall is not available,
I tried to enable the service but get the 1068 error. I also get this error
when trying to enable windows audio, and my device manager list of devices is
empty?? It seems all my plug and play services/items are not functioning
properly or are missing in the settings??

Any help is greatly appreciated if I can avoid a windows reinstall. Thanks
for your immediate replies!

Hello,

That URL seems to be a very dodgy site, for one thing, the comments apply to
every problem in the page:
http://www.google.com/search?q="so...+thatssss+what+is+wrong...+ah+ha"&filter=0&num=100

The other thing, the dates are always set to be recent (hint: check Google's
cache date). It is promoting RegCure, which is not free software.

Hello,

You can do a System Restore to a point where the problem was not there

Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Note that when you do a System Restore, you will lose configuration changes
that you did from the point that your restored to. So if you had installed
any new software, it will be affected.

Thanks,

I got the ip and device manager restored, but still need to restore my
firewall, but turns out I need to restore my windows management information
service as well.

Am I going to need to do a clean install, as I do not have any restore
points available on this drive, since the other drive also crashed. I am
using a restored copy of all my files and programs from a backup copy I made
with acronis.

I would rather not do a complete install of everything again if I can avoid
it, is it possible to restore the windows firewall and management information
service without a clean install??

Thanks again!
