TCP/IP in XP

I have an XP box that cannot access server resources or the Internet after
cleaning out some spyware/adware/malware. I cannot uninstall TCP/IP from the
network connection dialogue box. How can I unload TCP/IP from Command Prompt
so that I can do a complete reinstall of the protocol?

Does this help?

Step 1:
1) Delete the corrupted registry keys
2) Click Start, and then click Run.
3) In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
4) In Registry Editor, locate the following keys, right-click each
key,and then click Delete:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2

When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

Restart the computer after you delete the Winsock keys

Step 2:
1) Install TCP/IP
2) Right-click the network connection, and then click Properties.
3) Click Install.
4) Click Protocol, and then click Add.
5) Click Have Disk.
6) Type C:\Windows\inf, and then click OK.
On the list of available protocols, click Internet Protocol
