Microsoft TCP/IP V6 and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in network settings

Just noticed that I have both Microsoft TCP/IP V6 and Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP) showing in network settings.

Is this (a) normal, and (b) likely to cause a conflict ? (XP Pro machines)

Should I remove one or the other?

Yes, this is normal and should not cause any problems. TCP/IP v6 is
the "next" newer version of TCP/IP (which is v4.) Unless your
Internet Service provider / network uses v6 hardware, it is really not
needed.

TCP/IP (v4) is currently running out of usable IP addresses, available
for use with the Internet. TCP/IP v6 is supposed to be the upgrade to
allow more IP addresses to be available. I do not when the "switch-
over" would be completed.
