Hi
My newest dilemma... can not access internet thru my cable modem. "Can't find the page...". ISP's tech was able to hookup and access the network. So at that point, we decide that problem is with my PC probably the NIC. So I replaced the ethernet card. Still no results. Doing an IPCONFIG, gives me the locally generated ip address (169.254.196..) and NO Gateway, No DNS. Tried to do the IPCONFIG /renew. In return I got the following error (actual wording): "An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket" Doing Ipconfig /all gives me the nic address, and DHCP enabled. So assuming that software issue, installed the XP-Pro (was due for a long time). Still the same error message. Everything else appears to be working fine

All of this may have been started when last week, I tried to install VComs' SystemSuite and by mistake installed also GhostSurf. Both of those were un-installed immediately. But after that I was not able to do a restore to an earlier point

Any Suggestion, Help, Guidance or at least a word of sympathy for the deceased PC (if that may be the ultimate solution)
I am using AMD 1.3 with 256 RAM and a 60G drive

Guys and Gals... your time and help is very appreciated in advance. THANKS

Dania
