I have XP Home Edition and have used DRTCP (free download) to optimize
broadband speed. Changing the value for TCP Receive Window from 4000 to
400000 and checking "on " Window Scaling, Selective Acks and Time Stamping
incxrased speed from the 5 - 7 KB range to 12-13 KB range. Restart is
required for effect to be applied.

DRTCP is junk and 400000 is a non-standard value. What is the up and
down speed you have (i.e., 6Mb / 768kb)?

Is there a point to this post or are you trying to impress someone? I never
do any of that crap and consistently test at over 6 down on my 6Mb
connection.

Have to say that doesn't sound particularly optimized. In fact, I would
probably characterise those as unusably slow and be trying to fix them.
