I see..it looks like your suggestion would work if Import can copy to
another disk drive or floppy like a:\ other than hard drive (c:\). If that
is possible, then I will do the Tools >Options>Maintenance like you
explained. I hope I can do the same with Address Book of OE and Favorites of
Explorer 6.0. Looks like lots of preparation is needed prior to formatting
the drive.. I am trying other things like deleting some files considered
virus. I have the list, but i just cannot delete them since access is
denied. Do you think there are ways other than attrib -r..etc..will deltree
the file works? if everthing fails, I have no choice but formatting the
drive.. but I better wait!
Thanks for telling me COPY is no way for novices or beginners like me; i
will not bother.
For the messages you use explorer to somehow move the folder via CD to new
computer. Put it somewhaer. Then import from that folder. For messages, you
don't use export but a plain file and folder copy. But you do use Import so
OE knows about them.
You say I can use explorer to move messages to folder via CD to another/new
computer. And then import these messages to Explorer (or OE? ) on that
(another/new) computer. It is not clear because Explorer does not have
messages. Only OE contains messages. The Explorer Wizard only shows
Favorites and Cookies for possible import/export. The OE Wizard shows
importing/exporting Address Book or another Address Book and/or
Messages.
Explorer is the taskbar, start menu, desktop, and any open folder windows.
We call the other one Internet Explorer and we never abbreviate it to
explorer (we abbrev it to IE). So use Explorer to copy the folder to new
computer like any file or folder. Then Import into OE.
