Task Manager has disappeared

David Ryan

My task manager has disappeared. (I have XP Home).

C:\WINDOWS\System32\Taskmgr.exe does not exist.

Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing.

C:\WINDOWS\TASKMAN.EXE exists (15KB), but when I try and
open it, nothing happens. Similarly for
C:\WINDOWS\System32\TASKMAN.EXE

I recently had the klez virus, but it is gone. My
computer is free of viruses, according to Norton AV 2004.
I only got Norton AFTER the klez virus incident. I
*think* (not certain) that it is since klez that the task
manager has not been working.

How can I get it back? Can the exe file be downloaded or
copied from another computer?
