Task Manager - Not Working

My Task Manager does not come up and I am looking for a
suggestion for making it work without having to restore my
Windows XP operating system.

It stopped working when a Klez virus infiltrated my
computer. I have used the McAfee Klez Removal Tool to
remove this virus, but my Task Manager still does not work.

Everything else on my system works and I do not want to
have to go through a total system restore to resolve this
problem.

Please advise,
