system tray hover text

me

When I hover over the small items in the sys tray, most of the text is
behind the task bar, cannot read it, I can't believe the problems in this
program! I tried to drag the taskbar to the right side to make it vertical
but it doesn't work in XP, any ideas?
Thanks,
R. Hamm

I'm having the same problem at present, but then sometimes it comes up on
top like it's supposed to. I am awaiting someone's answer for you!
I run my taskbar up the left side. You shouldn't have any problem moving
it. Are you sure "Lock the taskbar" isn't checked?

This has happened on every XP system I've worked on occasionally. To fix,
right-click the program bar on the bottom and select "Properties". Uncheck
the "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows" item and click apply. Run
your mouse over the system tray and the items should be in front now. Now
check the "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows" item and click OK. Run
your mouse over the entire bottom of the screen making sure all items are in
front. Sometimes this only works on half of the screen such as the system
tray but not the Quick Launch area and must be repeated again so everything
is working right.

Hope this helps...

This is probably a bug. I've had the same problem on my XP Pro PC
for almost 2 years ... even with every update/patch from MS installed (not SP2!)

I've also seen it on numerous other XP PCs (work, friends, etc.)

And I've never seen a fix or workaround ...
