Yellow flyovers appear behind bottom task bar

Hi,
Yellow flyovers appear behind (and cannot be read) the bottom task bar when
I hover over the desktop's bottom taskbar or quick launch area. This happens
periodically. Any help?

Remember what you did, because it doesn't last and you'll have to do it
again.

This is a known problem. A couple of ways to band-aid this. Reboot or
logoff and log back on. Hide the Taskbar then show it again.

Or kill explorer.exe and restart it.

Open Task Manager...
Ctrl + Shift + Escape | Processes tab | Right click explorer.exe |
Select: End Process | Click Yes to Warning | Click File |
Click New Task (Run...) | Type: explorer | Click OK

End Task on explorer.exe will make your Desktop and all programs disappear.
Restarting explorer will bring everything back.

Microsoft has come out with a KB article. Unfortunately the KB article does
not offer any real reason for the CAUSE, or a fix.

Here's another method, I mean band-aid.

Click Start
Click All Programs
Right-click ANY folder OR shortcut that appears ABOVE the taskbar
Click Sort by Name

Wow... And the really cool thing is that if the tooltips *aren't* hidden
behind the taskbar, you can hide them by following the same procedure.

Nope. They went under. On my system anyhow. I've never been able to provoke
this behavior before but now I can.

Hasn't happened on my Vista Ultimate RTM install as of yet. Been running it

This problem annoyed me sufficiently that I wrote a program that will
automatically PREVENT this condition from occuring. Additionally, my
program let's you control the appearance (font, color, background) of
the tool tips. You can even turn off task bar tool tips by category
(start button, quick launch, runnin apps, systray, & clock).
