System start error

Hi

After I reinstalled XP Pro, SP2 and all updates, I have encountered a
peculiar problem. When I power on the system, my system starts goes past
BIOS, reaches XP logo and then suddenly restarts. This ritual happens 2 to 6
times before I see desktop. When I shut down, its a piece of cake.

What's wrong? I have Award Modular BIOS 6.

Open Control Panel - System - Advanced and click on the Settings
button in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section.

In the Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for
"automatically restart" to clear it.

Click on Apply and OK as needed to exit.

This should put an end to the spontaneous reboots. However they may
be replaced by a "Blue Screen Of Death" STOP error message. If this
happens then the contents of the STOP message, including the STOP
code, all 4 parameters, and any file or module names mentioned will be
a direct clue as to the underlying cause of your problems. Post that
information back here.

Good luck
