Start Menu Problems

The first time I click on a start menu item I get a Widows cannot Find
Message, for example I clicked on Control Panel and got the message: Windows
Cannot Find'/idlist,:1664:1588,'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and
try again. The second time I click on it it opens. Also if I click on Start
"Run" nothing happens but I can open run by right clicking on it and
selecting "Run." I have noticed that when I open windows my quick launch
bar looses the order I placed the items in. I have "Hide Desktop" enabled
and the desktop toolbar enabled and at times it will turn itself off along
with quick launch I have to re-select both to get them back. I recently
replaced some memory that was failing Memtest86+ test 5 my current memory is
stable and my computer is virus and malware free.

Problem solved
I assumed I was malware free since I ran four of the top rated scanners,
Webroot, Adaware, Spybot and SuperAntiSpyware and came up clean. I recently
installed and ran Malwarebytes and it reported an obscure Trojan in two
places in my Reg and an infected file. After removal and reboot all is well!
This is an excellent program and I would recommend it, find here:

Yes, Malwarebytes is an excellent program, and your recommendation is
a very good one. But it's also important to realize that none of these
programs is perfect and almost any decent one may find some infections
that the others miss. That's why it's always a good idea to run
multiple anti-spyware programs (at least two), not just one, even if
the one is the best one.

I wholeheartedly agree no single app will find every issue that is why I ran
five different apps.
