System root?, file system pointers? or plain dunno

Help,

After a system crash (power supply fault), A local pc shop
changed the power supply and installed a bigger disk
drive. Then 'ghosted' from one of my existing drives to
the new one.
The machine boots from the old drive (I think), and loads
some programs from the old drive (c. But it seems to
load a lot of stuff from the new D: including bits of
winnt etc. Plus all MSoffice applications, and 'my
documents' AOL software loads and saves to drive c:.
I was hoping to trash the copy on drive d: and use the
space for other things, but because winnt and my documents
are open i can delete these directories, nor some of the
sub directories.
I want everything to load and save from c:

How do I get all the pointers back to c:

Note am using NTFS on both dard disks which are
partitioned c: d: e:

Its not entirely clear from yr post what exactly has been done to yr sys.
You say "'ghosted' from one of my existing drives to the new one."
So which drive was ghosted?
How is the new drive designated on the sys, ie what drive letter?

Well I dont quite understand the rational of ghosting C to a new drive and
then not using the new drive as C thats the reason people usually ghost a
disk.
You now have a second cloned boot disk, what was the purpose??

Oe of the 2 existing physical drives was removed (it was blank). He

installed a new disk, ghosted from my existing drive c: to a partition
created on the new drive. Then created a second partition on new drive.
