System restore still won't work

I had read some of the document at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];302796 but not all of
it. I did check the event log and found that when I try to turn on System
Restore from the properties tab of my computer I get the following:

Faulting application rundll32.exe, version 5.1.2600.0, faulting module
srrstr.dll, version 5.1.2600.1142, fault address 0x00009765.

When I try to run system restore from Start Programs I get:


Faulting application rstrui.exe, version 5.1.2600.1106, faulting module
srrstr.dll, version 5.1.2600.1142, fault address 0x000095fa.

Perhaps the module is corrupted.
Did you try SFC /SCANNOW
