system process

Ok I am running an athlon xp 2.0 2400+ on an asus board
with 512 ddr. I only have windows installed and my cpu
usage is being used up by system process (not system
idle).I have updated the bios and installed the windows
updates and nothing has worked. Can anyone help me figure
out what I should do to fix this?
