System freeze

Phil

Having thought I have a faulty Hard Drive, I have
purchased - formatted - clean install of XP Pro.
Still crashes!
Sometimes the screen freezes, and Hard Drive stops
spinning. Sometimes screen turns black and stops
responding. Have to turn PC off and reboot.. But
sometimes on reboot it can't find the Hard Drive until I
have disconnected from the mains supply, and rebooted.
Doesn't always happen at the same time, I have now been
on for 15mins and still no crash.

Please Help!

Please list out the other hardware component you have in that PC. It could
be that the motherboard IDE port(s) are failing and/or the IDE cable is bad.
Also, your power supply can not provide enough power to all your drives.

We can only help you if you give us more details about the PC.

Y.
