system 32 error when trying to insall a game

This game used to work fine on my same p.c. No changes have been made except
that I uninstalled it several months ago to make space available to play
another. I now uninstalled the other to play this one again. This time I'm
getting an error message that reads: C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.NT. The
system file is not suitable for running MS DOS and Microsoft Windows
applications.

What does this mean? How do I fix it?
