Hi:

I am getting a notice that says "Generic Host Process for Win32 has encountered a problem and needs to close". Then a System Shutdown screen appears and says "The shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM" with message that further says Windows must restart because RPC service terminated unexpectedly.

My computer then shuts down and restarts. I can go for just a few minutes and then I get this notice and it goes through this process all over again.

I have not installed any new programs lately prior to this starting. I did clean out Temporary Internet files.

Windows Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 1 is installed.

Any advice and/or recommendations will be appreciated.

Right I have posted all the info on my website, and the link to Symantec. It seems like a worm is responsible for this RPC vulnerability, and RPC fix, and removal instructions are on my website.

There you will find the type of RPC error that has been going around very rapidly at the moment, and the link to Symantec which has fixes.

Hope this helps;
