Problems With XP

my PC has suddenly started crashing. It involves receiving
the following messages and then rebooting itself.
1)
"Shutdown initiated byNT Authority/system.
R.... remote proc... call (RPC) service terminated
unexpectedly"

2)
"Generic Host Process for Win32 services has encountered a
problem ... needs to close"


Anybody Got Any Ideas?

Hi Mark,

To stop the reboots: Go to Start/Run and type in: services.msc. Scroll down
to Remote Procedure Call (RPC)/Recovery/First Failure/Restart the Service.

Then close Windows Explorer, run the edit on line 257 then run the patch
