Windows XP shuts down

When I'm on line, my Windows XP HE displays this message
first:

'Generic Host Process for Win32 services'

Then This message:

'NT Authority/System
Windows must now restart because Remote Procedure Call
(RPC) service terminated unexpectedly'

And then windows shuts down and restarts. What's causing
this and gow do I correct the problem. Thanks
