svchost.exe application error

svchost.exe application error--The following error prompts
everytime I close Windows XP

The instruction at "0x00000019" referenced memory
at "0x00000019". The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate the program.
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

Please help.

From whatever research i did, I see that this is most probably because of
a virus or a worm.

I suggest running a virus scan and then updating your system with the
latest patches from www. windowsupdate.com
