svchost.exe. application error

Upon "Turn Off" of Windows XP Professional, the following
error prompt appears:

svchost.exe application error
The instruction at "0x00000019" referenced memory
at "0x00000019". The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate the program.
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

Please send instructions on how to correct this error.

Start/Run/type MSCONFIG and click OK, click the startup ta
Uncheck msmsgs, click Apply/OK/and reboot.
