Suddenly unable to send or forward, but can receive after 2 mths

Everything was fine till about a week ago, then suddenly I can receive, but
when I try to send or foward a message it goes to the Outbox. When I hit
send/receive button it indicates message being sent, but never goes to Sent
Messages Box and receipients indicate non-receipt. I know connection is
good, as I can log in to Road Runner and send a message and my husband has a
separate account on the same computer and his works fine. I have tried
deleting all old messages and outbox messages, so far nothing works. I've
reviewed all settings that I know to try. Any help will be greatly
appreciated!!!!!!!

Try this Microsoft fix:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090
"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer
that is running Windows Vista"

It works on other folders in addition to the Outbox.

Did all the messages in the Outbox delete when you tried?

What if any error messages do you get when you try to send? Showing
the full error message will help you get help faster.

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of the common
ones such as Norton, McAfee, and Trend cause problems in
Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

Hal - I am deeply grateful for your suggestion to dowload KB941090!!! I am
back in business after sending a test message to my husband's account. It
worked like a charm, BUT I'll keep a copy of your message nearby - just in
case! Interestingly enough, microsoft website indicated that all my updates
were current - yet another Vista glitch. Many thanks........Less unhappyuser

That Microsoft fix is not meant as an update. It is a hotfix for those
who are experiencing this particular problem. The fix does not solve
the root cause of this problem, corruption caused by a non-compatible
antivirus program, such as McAfee or Norton.

I STILL CAN NOT REPLY AS JUST LIKE YOUR DISCUSSIONS IN WINOWS WHERE IT SAYS
NEW THEN REPLY. I NEVER HAD TO GO USE TOOLS TO REPLY OR SEND A MESSAGE AFTER
I JUST READ IT. I HAVE 3 STEPS AND IT EITHER SAYS REPLY TO ALL WHICH THAT IS
NOT A GOOD THING TO SEND TO ALL MY E-MAIL ADDRESSES. OR SEND LATER OR SEND
NOW. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? I USE TO HAVE WINOWS XP PROFESSIONAL AND NEVER HAD
THIS PROBLEM IN 5 YEARS.

NEED HELP SINCE THEY ALL TOLD ME THIS WAS GOING TO BE THE NEWEST AND
BEST--.....CONSTANCE NEWMAN....

I AM STILL PAYING FOR THIS COMPUTER AND IF IT IS NOT WHAT WAS TOLD TO ME AS
BETTER I REALLY NEED TO KNOW. I WORK FOR A FINANCE COMPANY AND IF I CAN NOT
REPLY AS SOON AS THEY SEND ME A MESSAGE THAN THIS IS NOT FOR ME.

Reply to All is used when you want to send the reply to everyone that the
original message was sent to as well as the sender, not to all the email
addresses you have available. Reply is used when you want to send it
only to the sender of the message you are replying to.

If you get any error messages, you would get help faster if you show
the full error messages.

What, if any, antivirus programs do you have? Some common ones,
such as Norton, Mcafee, and Trend, cause various problems in
Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

Click on Outbox, then View, then Current View, then Show All
Messages. Do the missing replies show up there?

Please don't use all capital letters; it's quite a bit harder to read.
I'm not sure whether you're talking about the newfroup Web access or mail in
Windows Mail. In Windows Mail you can right click the toolbar and add
buttons (Reply, for instance), move them around or remove them.

Reply All does not reply to everyone in your Contacts, but to everyone in
the From, To and CC fields of the message. Reply just replies to the
Sender. See WinMail's Help.
