Can't send or receive mail

P

Paul

The following message when attempting to receive: Is there a windows fix
available for the following or is there something else I should be looking
for? "One or more messages in your Outbox do not have a valid account
specified. Would you like to use your default account to send these
messages?"

When I attempt to send message: Subject 'check', Account:
'pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com(5)', Server: 'smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server
Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D.

This is the ONLY account that does not work - the other accounts that work
fine and the config is identical to the others.

Driving crazier than I already am!

Thanks

Paul
Both the pop & smtp are the same as other accounts and no problem!

I am able to send and receive in my Yahoo email account.

Paul.

I'm having a similar problem with my Outlook. Only I can receive email, but
cannot send the email. All my settings are correct per my ISP, yet I can't
figure out how to fix this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Just about everything in your settings for that account is obsolete,
including server names and port numbers. Be sure to follow
these directions:
http://helpme.att.net/article.php?item=10707

The obsolete settings may continue to work for a while longer, but the
main reason for that error message is that you are using the SSL option
with a port (25) that can't use it.

If you really mean "Outlook" you are in the wrong newsgroup.
The newsgroup to which you posted is for the Windows Mail program.
You are more likely to find Outlook experts in the Outlook newsgroup:

microsoft.public.outlook.general (via NNTP), or via the web:

http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...ault.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.outlook.general

If you meant Windows Mail, do you get an error message when you try to send?
If so, right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Gary,
After lots of troubleshooting with Cox, Dell and Microsoft it turned out Cox
had suddenly put my email address as disabled. It was an easy fix.

Thanks for the help though.
