Can receive but not send

I can receive mail, but not send, everything goes into the Outbox. The
account is ok because my ISP help has sent me email using my account Id. I've
deleted everything except one email that remains stuck in the Outbox, it has
an error message:
"Message could not be displayed
Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this
message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again."
I've done this and the machine is fine on both accounts. Please help...

If you have messages stuck in the Outbox, do the following:
First, delete or move as many of those messages as you can.
There will be one undeletable message.
Download and run the WMUtil program:
http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil
Use WMUtil's Clear Outbox tool.
Be sure to read and follow the instructions on that download page.

I received the same message -- I had an email in the Outbox that had already
been sent but seemed to be "stuck" in the Outbox (giving me the "message
could not be displayed" error message), and no subsequent emails could be
sent. After scrolling through these posts and trying various solutions to no
avail, here's what I did, and it seems to be working (my fingers are still
crossed). In a nutshell, I closed the Windows Mail program, then went to the
Windows Mail folder and deleted the "Outbox" subfolder. Then, I copied the
subfolders for Windows Mail that contained all my filed e-mails (including
the inbox) to another folder, then deleted all of the subfolders under "Local
Folders" in the Windows Mail Folder. Then, I reopened the Windows Mail
program, and it automatically rebuilt new basic folders (inbox, deleted
items, outbox, etc.). I then recopied my previous folders and pasted them to
the Windows Mail "Local Folders". When I reopened the Windows Mail program,
it found all of the folders again and rebuilt the list in the left column,
without the previous glitch e-mail in the outbox.

As best as I can remember, here it is step-by-step:
Two things first: in Windows Mail, disable the "send/receive messages upon
startup" under Tools/Options/General; also, make sure you don't have any
messages in the Outbox other than the one that seems to be "stuck" (the one
that gives the "message could not be displayed" error message) -- I just
moved my other outgoing emails to the draft folder
1) close Windows Mail
2) right-click on start button, go to "explore" to open Windows Explorer
3) find Windows Mail folder (mine was under
c:/users/user/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Mail)
4) under Local Folder, find and delete the Outbox folder
5) copy all folders and files under Local Folder (I used Ctrl-A to highlight
all, then Ctrl-C to copy)
6) find another location to create a temporary "holding" folder (i just made
a temp folder under "documents"), then paste the folders/files into the temp
file (Ctrl-V)
7) go back to Windows Mail / Local Folders, and delete all files under Local
Folder (Ctrl-A to highlight all, then Delete)
8) reopen Windows Mail -- it should rebuild basic folders in the left
column, all of which should be empty
9) close Windows Mail
10) go back to the temp folder, copy all files/folders
11) go to Windows Mail / Local Folders, and paste all files/folders under
Local Folders
12) reopen Windows Mail, the program should reload all of the folders it
finds (mine actually loaded twice, once as normal, and once under a new
folder called "Recovered Files")

I had to fix the names of a couple of the folders, but other than that,
everything reloaded AND I didn't have the "stuck" e-mail in the outbox. I was
then able to send other e-mails with no problem. I then restored the
"send/receive messages upon startup", closed the program, reopened it, and
it's business as usual! This worked for me, hope it works for you!
