strange networking problem

I have 2 laptops running Vista, I have my wireless router setup and both
computers are connected to the internet fine.
I can see them in the network map but I can not access from any of the two
to the other one, I can not ping any of the two from the other one.
In Vista Networking and Sharing:
1 Network Discovery ON
2 File Sharing ON
3 Public Folder Sharing ON
4 Password Protected OFF
5 Network is “Privateâ€
6 workgroup names are the same "WORKGROUP"

Firewall misconfiguration?

Configure firewalls on all machines to allow the Local Area Network
(LAN) traffic as trusted. With Windows Firewall, this means allowing
File/Printer Sharing on the Exceptions tab. Normally running the Network
Setup Wizard on XP will take care of this for those machines.The only
"gotcha" is that this will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you
aren't running a third-party firewall or have an antivirus with
"Internet Worm Protection" (like Norton 2006/07) which acts as a
firewall, then you're fine. With third-party firewalls, I usually
configure the LAN allowance with an IP range. Ex. would be
192.168.1.0-192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct
subnet. Do not run more than one firewall.

Great Malke!
I have configured the firewall in Windows Live One Care and it works. I
completely forgotted about this possibility, I wonder why the changes in the
connections management panel do not change the firewall.
