Storing users' home directories on a separate volume

Hi,
I would like to store my users' home directories on a separate volume
from the OS (XP Pro, SP2), but have been unable to find any info
describing how to do this (or if it is even possible). Whether they are
stored on a separate partition or on a remote machine doesn't really
matter, so long as I can store them on a separate volume from the C drive.
Is anyone aware of how to go about this, or any urls to which I can be
pointed to find out how this might be done?
