"Stop Errors"

I have recently been getting various stop errors, and when I turned
down my Athlon XP processor in the bios setup from 2500+ to 1100+
(200mhz frequency to 100mhz) I stopped getting the stop errors. What
could this mean? In case your wondering why I turned it down, I didn't
really turn it down, every time the computer would reboot from the
stop error it would reboot at 1100+ (half speed) so I kept at that
speed and saw the stop errors end. I would appreciate any help.

Hi

Could you please post the Stop Codes? With those it may be possible narrow
down the problem.

Well now I'm not getting them but when I was getting them I remember
one was dcmc0d0.dll (a nvidia graphics card file). I just updated the
drivers but it didn't stop that error. I got other errors also like
win32k.sys, another one was PAGE_FAULT_IN-NONPAGED-AREA, and another
was IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Like I said reducing the processor to
1100+ (100mhz) stopped the errors completely. Now that I think about
it could it be my processor's malfunctioning?

Possibly.
You should monitor the cpu fan speed to see if it's over heating.
You can reboot and enter bios to see it's current speed or you
can use a utility like MotherBoard Monitor.

no prob.
I should've mentioned that my cpu fan runs around 4200 rpm's and MbM
consideres that to be a tad slow for my motherboard. so yours should run
around that high or higher.
