About a week ago, i was trying to burn a cd and even when the system is idle,
i would get a error such as?

STOP: 0x00000003,0x89B3A648,0x89B3A7BC,0x805D11F8

Beginning dump of physical memory

I dont know if this is a ram related issue?

I ran tests on ram as well as hard drive.

What programme were you using to burn the CD?

Can you provide a more complete copy of the Stop Error Report and
perhaps a copy of the corresponding report from Event Viewer?

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.

Gerry:

I reinstalled my Windows XP Pro oem and then tried upgrading to vista
premium upgrade. everything seemed fine until the last screen before getting
into vista desktop. i think it was testing hardware screen or something. Then
the following appeared:

STOP:C000021a [Fatal System Error]
The Windows subsystem process terminated unexpectedly with a status
of 0xc0000006 (0x7763ec92 0x043fedbo)

The system has been shut down

Collecting data for crash dump...
Initializing disk for crash dump...

Then system reboots

Im puzzled

Your error message is incomplete. I suspect that you have missed the
STOP code (8 digit hexadecimal value with the first 5 or 6 digits
usually zeroes).

There is actually a STOP 0x00000003 named INVALID_AFFINITY_SET
but it is an extremely rare error and there is virtually no
documentation available about it so I am assuming that your 0x00000003
value is the first of the 4 parameters that are reported for a STOP
error and that it is the STOP code that has been omitted.

If you can provide the STOP code value then we can give at least an
explanation as to the more likely causes of that error, but without it
we can't really do much.

Good luck
