Stop error bluescreen when waking from standby/hibernate

I have a new xp pro computer, using Asus MB and AMD
XP2100+ , ati radeon 7000. The computer will not resume
from standby or hibernate, without a bluescreen lockup.
Is there any known issues of this? Thinking it could be
defective ram?
 
RAM would not be the case with hibernation since everything is moved to the
disk before shutting down. I would expect it to be more of a hardware issue
such as a video or sound card, scanner, etc.
