Stop error 0x00000051

I just started to receive the following B.O.D. during
startup on an XP pro workstation:

Registry_error

stop: 0x00000051

This system has been running for about one year.
This error happens during any of the following:
-Start inb safe mode
-Trying to use the recovery console
-Performing an in-place upgrade

I could'nt find any reference to this on error on technet.

Any ideas?
