Stop Code causing major troubles\!!!!

I turned my comp on earlier, it ran ok for 30 minutes then turned itself off.
When i rebooted, i got the corrupt \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM message.
I inserted the original XP disk, got as far as selecting the installation to
repair, but as soon as i pressed '1', i got a REGISTRY_ERROR, with stop code
0x00000051 (0x00000003,0x00000001,0x00000000,0xE124A000). I've searched
everywhere, but can't find a reference to it. I also have tried Safe Mode and
a complete reinstall, but with the same 'Blue Screen of Death' without
actually being to start anything. Please Help !!!!!!!!!!

Mac: I am having the same problem. Have you been able to resolve the
Registry_Error??

No still waiting...think I may have to get a new hard drive.

I may bite the bullet and pay MicroSoft $35 for help ... but since it is a
Dell, I'm hoping they don't give me the run around that an OEM installed the
original version of Windows XP ... Did you talk/chat with MicroSoft directly?
