Stop: 0X0000006F (0XC0000020 on XP Pro Sp2 Install

I tried to repair an existing XP Pro Sp2 installation, and I received a
Stop: 0X0000006F (0XC0000020 Session3_Initialization_Failed. I changed
to a different XP install disc, but it failed with the same error.

By the process of elimination, I traced the problem to the ASUS
CD-S500A CD-ROM reader. After I swapped the ASUS drive for a Plextor
CD-RW PX-W1210A, the XP Pro install went without a hitch.

I am posting this message in hopes that it may help others that receive
this particular error. I found many postings with this error, but I
never did see a solution posted. My guess is the ASUS Cd-Rom reader
could not handle the density of data on the XP Pro Cd. Both drives were
manufactured in 2000.
