stolen college student laptop

My daughter's new Dell laptop was stolen in May and we
have purchased a new one for Fall. Her XP Student 2000
was on it. Can she use it again without problems from
Microsoft. I do not want to buy another one.

She notified Dell and she has a police report.

What can she do next? Try to load it and see what
happens?

Any input from you would be helpful. Thanks.

I don't see any prob. with that.
If it doesn't let you to activate the product ID again, call Microsoft.
They should be able to help you.
