Open Deviec Manager, Under Sound, Video and Game Controller, check if any
device listed with a yellow exclamation mark. If yes, then you still not
installed a proper sound drivers.

If there are no sign and your sound card drivers name are listed properly
then you must check your speakers on some other PC.

Further, goto Control Panel and open Sound and Audio devices. Click Audio
tab and check if your sound card name is listed under "Default Device" for
Playback and recording. Also, under Volume tab check Device volume is set to
full and there is check mark before "Mute" option.

Also, can you see Volume Tray icon near System Time?

Hope this information helps you, let us know!

Hiya, i have checked it all just now and there are no yellow exclamation
marks, sound card name is listed ok as default device.

Hmm no the volume tray icon is not next to the system time?!!

Unfortunately, yesterday, one of my customers over phone was complaining the
same and I was laughing that it couldn’t be possible as everything was fine.
Yesterday night, I move on the location and check everything and still there
was no sound. I was amaze that songs were playing with no difficulty but
still there was no sound. Even I replace the speakers but of no use. In last,
what I check is DirectX and Wow! I found it right. The DirectX files were
corrupted and it was not opening. I reinstall the DirectX and problem is
being solved. You can also try the same. Click Start – All Programs –
Accessories – System Tools – System Information – click on Tools menu – click
DirectX. Make a guess. If you think it is not in good condition then download
it from the following link:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en

Need Windows XP validation. You can also check some of your drivers CD,
where you will find it free. Need latest version.

Further, check your Speakers and Line Out jack of your motherboard. See if
you are not putting it in “Line In†or Mic.

Hope this helps you, let us know!
