still looking for help...

Jayson

I posted this message on Nov 20th looking for help with
my USB gamepad. I did recieve a reply from a microsoft
direct input testlab employee directing me to email
information about my system so he could help me better.
So I sent the email to the address he gave me, and it
came back returned. Tried again, same thing. So I
posted a reply to this guy and never heard from him
again. I dont really expect or deserve help on a forum,
I understand it is free and subject to the decision of
the people reading it as to weather I get help or not.
But, it is very frustrating to be searching for help for
some time on an issue, finally get a glimpse of help only
to find out I have been blown off.

Anyway, here is the message again. Anyone who feels
sorry for me and is actually serious about helping me,
please reply... I am very grateful for any help, really!
Thanks again in advance.

***I have tried everything I know, but I am having no
luck at all trying to connect a USB gamepad. I am on my
3rd
one, and I am getting tired of returning hardware that
says clearly on the package, "compatable with Windows
XP!". I have tried a Logitech, a Gemini, and now a Game
Elements, all which claim compatibility with XP. The
problem is not my USB because I have a USB mouse and PDA
dock. 2 of the 3 gamepads are on the "Microsoft XP
Hardware Compatability List". I have tried installing
each gamepad's respective software the convential way,
through the hardware wizard, through the driver update in
the device manager... nothing works. I am talking about
a dual-analog joystick 10 button gamepad, exactly the
same as the Playstation 2 has. Is this too dificult a
request from XP? Has anyone else had the same problem?
Do I have any options? Does anyone else have the same
type of gamepad as I am looking for and succesfully
operate it on XP? Anyone who has pity on me and would
like to help, I would be eternally grateful to.***

Hi Jayson,
Sorry to have made you feel blown off. I didn't intend to. I try to get
back to the original posts as often as possible but sometimes I probably
miss some. If you remove the "online" portion of my address it will be
valid. Send me your info and I'll take a look.
